K-Days isn’t just showing off a newish name, the summer fair will boast a newish stage for this year’s musical acts.

The Koodonation Stage — located on the south side of Northlands Grounds — will host country crooners Chad Brownlee and Dallas Smith on July 21 and chameleon Colin James on July 25.

(The stage for Capital Ex’s Ed Fest, back in the mid- to late-‘00s, was situated in a similar location.)

Admission to the Koodonation Stage is free with entry into K-Days. A one-day ticket is $10, a 10-day pass is $29.99 plus service charges. Advance tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster.ca.

Popsters Down With Webster will perform on July 22, followed by rapper Classified on July 23. The latter recently won the Rap Recording of the Year Juno for his hit, Inner Ninja, featuring David Myles.

“I know the mayor and I listen to it all the time,” quipped Richard Andersen, president of Northlands, at a news conference to reveal some of the fair’s attractions.

Speaking of Stephen Mandel, the outgoing mayor will be this year’s parade marshal. The K-Days parade will kick off the first day of the fair, July 19.

And what of poor ol’ Telus Stage, where acts such as Ace of Base and Metric used to play? The stage, located on the north side of Northlands Grounds, will feature semifinalists and finalists from the K-Days Talent Search. To enter, visit k-days.com.
