A 50-year-old man was shot in the leg during a violent north Edmonton home invasion Monday, say police.
Officers were called to the home near 119 Avenue and 38 Street just after 7:30 a.m. after reports that several masked intruders broke into the home, filling the air with bear spray.
But when officers arrived, they found a 50-year-old man in the basement suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his left leg.
The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in stable condition.
The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
Investigators later determined that the man who was shot lived in the home.
