* Life’s not always a beach, especially for members of one of America’s most seminal pop groups of the ‘60s.

After decades of acrimony, and then a brief détente for their 50th anniversary tour, the surviving founders of The Beach Boys are no longer performing together.

So … which boys are performing on Friday, May 3 at The River Cree Resort and Casino? Mike Love’s version — also starring Bruce Johnston, Tim Bonhomme, Scott Totten, Randell Kirsch and John Cowsill.

Love founded the original Beach Boys with his cousins, including Brian Wilson, and Al Jardine in 1961. They reunited in 2011, recorded a new album, That’s Why God Made The Radio, and embarked on a world tour — including a Calgary stop last July.

A few months later, Love fired Wilson, Jardine and David Marks during their UK tour, then embarked on war of words with Wilson in the Los Angeles Times.

Sigh. There’s a reason, I guess, why they’re called The Beach BOYS. Tickets, by the way, are $59.50 plus service charges at rivercreetickets.com.

* On a much more peaceful note, Canadian jazz chanteuse Holly Cole will perform Monday, April 15 at the Myer Horowitz Theatre. Tickets are $45 plus service charges at Ticketmaster.
