Well, this is it, Edmonton – the 12th and final clue in our yegquest adventure.

Time to fish or cut bait.
For a dozen days now, Edmontonians have been fanning out across the city, gleefully joining in our yegchick’s free range antics. You have dressed up in costumes, You have posed in poultry postures. You have dragged a menagerie of mascots along on your adventures. You have sent me pictures that range from the utterly adorable to the supremely goofy to the remarkably beautiful. Your sense of fun has been contagious – and thousands of readers who haven’t taken part in the treasure hunt themselves have been gleefully enjoying your photos and stories. You have helped our armchair questers to discover, or rediscover, the magic of our city.
Thank you to everyone who’s participated thus far for your humour, your creativity, your persistence, your boundless energy, and your passion for Edmonton. Henday and I are both grateful.
Our yegquest journey doesn’t entirely end today. In the interests of letting as many people as possible participate, I’m giving everyone until Labour Day, Monday, September 2nd, to complete the 12 tasks. We’ll announce all the winners shortly after that, including the winner of our grand prize, a bed and breakfast package for two from the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. (You’ll find all 12 clues here at edmontonjournal.com/Paulatics if you want to join the party – better late than never!)
BUT – there will be three special prize packages for the first three people or teams who correctly solve all 12 clues, and upload their photos to edmontonjournal.com or via our uploader here.
IF you’ll be completing your 12th clue today, pleas be sure to email me at psimons@edmontonjournal.com when you have filed your final photograph, so I can check you in.
But remember, you don’t need to complete all 12 Labours of Henday to enter to win. One picture is all I need to put your name in the grand prize draw drum.
And now – your final hints – now good luck, and happy questing!
A hermit who liked to go fishing,
Knew you couldn’t catch fishes by wishing.
His line he would cast.
While the dog-walkers past.
And canoes through the water went swishing.
Where Victoria finds happy trails.
The chicks tells some merry fish tales.
The rainbow trout splash.
Round the dock with panache.
Catch Henday? Now, how can you fail?
Too cryptic? Well, this should take you right to the point.
Try Latitude North 53.588703, Longitude West -113.374832
Happy questing! And remember, if you’re aiming to be one of the first three entrants past the post, email me at psimons@edmontonjournal.com to let me know you’re ready.
