Three Edmonton-area Conservative MPs named to new shadow cabinet

 A trio of Conservative Party MPs from Edmonton and northern Alberta have been appointed to party leader Andrew Scheer’s new shadow cabinet.

Edmonton Riverbend MP Matt Jeneroux will serve as critic for science in the Official Opposition, while Edmonton Manning MP Ziad Aboultaif takes on the international development role.

Shannon Stubbs, the MP for Lakeland, becomes natural resources critic. She had previously worked as the deputy critic in that portfolio.

Scheer made the announcements Wednesday in Ottawa, naming 35 MPs to shadow minister roles. He also reappointed Chris Warkentin, the MP for Grande Prairie MacKenzie, as deputy house leader.

Jeneroux had previously served as the critic for Western Economic Diversification, while Aboultaif was critic for national revenue.
