No doubt there is some excitement in the air today. It is our last day of classes before our winter break here at ABC Head Start, and as the end of the day creeps closer the staff are gearing up to spend a couple of weeks with their families, on vacation somewhere warm, or just nestled under a blanket. I know I say it every year but I have to say it again, the community support we receive at this time of the year is astounding.

Children enjoying a winter story wrapped in blankets made by one of our fabulous volunteers.
We have groups reaching out asking if they can organize and arrange hampers for ABC Head Start families. There are Montessori and preschool programs doing “Trees of Warmth” collecting pajamas, mittens and toques for our children. A family gave gifts to one of our classrooms so the children would have presents for Christmas morning. One of the members of our Board of Directors, a retired ABC Head Start teacher, made over 100 fleece blankets for the children. We have had countless gifts to the agency; I have been writing so many thank you cards to donors I have a permanent hand cramp!
I am incredibly touched by the generosity of the holiday season. I want to thank all of the volunteers, staff, supporters, donors and friends of ABC Head Start who give so much of themselves to this agency. And Who believe in the mission and vision of ABC Head Start and want to see children and families succeed. From all of us at ABC Head Start, we wish all of you a safe, healthy and happy holiday and all the best in the New Year.
