* One of China’s top indie rock bands, Carsick Cars, will be testing the limits of their stomachs as they make their first trip across Canada. The Beijing trio will make a pit stop on Monday, March 24 at Wunderbar. Tickets are $12 at the door.
Carsick Cars, led by Zhang Shouwang, are former tourmates of Sonic Youth and recently released a new album, 3, produced by Spacemen 3’s Sonic Boom.
Shouwang’s side project, White+, will open, along with two of Edmonton’s finest, Diamond Mind and Strange Fires.
* Punk foursome Against Me! will bring some Transgender Dysphoria Blues to The Starlite Room on Friday, March 28.
That’s the title of the Florida band’s latest album, inspired by singer/guitarist Laura Jane Grace’s own experiences. She was born Tom Gabel and started living as a woman in 2012.
Tickets are $25 plus service charges at Ticketfly. Laura Stevenson and Cheap Girls are also on the bill.
