* Is it a dream? Or is it reality? After an almost 18-month delay, DreamFace’s pop debut will see the light of day. Their self-titled EP, featuring nine songs and two videos, is available on iTunes as of today — Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The wait isn’t without reason. One of the band’s vocalists, Daniel Carriere, was a bit preoccupied with one of his other bands, Ten Second Epic and their third album, Better Off, released in 2011.
Watch/listen to DreamFace’s latest single, Science or Fiction, also featuring the sweet pipes of Jasmine Ming-Wai Ma.
* Lesley Pelletier is stepping into the spotlight — trepidatiously, perhaps? — with her first album of original pop and rock tunes. The singer, guitarist and pianist, who honed her chops performing covers, will release Turn Down the Lights on Friday, March 1 at Fiddler’s Roost, 8906 99th St. Tickets are $15 (or $25 with a CD) at tixonthesquare.ca.
* Fair Blue will launch a Loose Cannon — the foursome’s rock debut — on Saturday, March 9 at Avenue Theatre. Tickets are $15 at yeglive.ca. The EP is a striking mix of acoustic country, dance rock, metal and Chris Silver’s acrobatic vocals. Listen to three of their tunes via Soundcloud.
