If you plan to attend the annual Economics Society of Northern Alberta (ESNA) outlook conference on Dec. 4th, you’d better move fast. The early bird registration deadline is Monday.

This year’s ESNA conference takes place at the Chateau Lacombe Hotel, and will feature the usual strong lineup of high-profile guest speakers and topics, including:
- David Watt, HSBC Canada’s chief economist – global economic outlook
- Todd Hirsch, senior economist with ATB Financial – Alberta’s economic outlook
- Randy Ollenberger, managing director, BMO Capital Markets – oil and gas sector outlook
- Nigel Bankes, chair, natural resources law, Faculty of Law, University of Calgary – implications of recent Supreme Court decisions for the natural resource industries
- David Black, president, Kitimat Clean Ltd. and chairman, Black Press – proposed Kitimat oil refinery, a new west coast outlet for oilsands crude
- Chris Lumb, CEO of TEC Edmonton – high tech industry’s growth in Edmonton
- Matthew Schoenhardt, senior associate, project economics and assessment, Stantec Inc. – selling the Alberta advantage: comparative petrochemical plant economics in North America

The one-day conference kicks off with registration, starting at 7:30 a.m., and will wrap up by roughly 3 p.m.
