Don’t stop believin’ … Journey is returning to Edmonton.
The classic rockers will perform Saturday, July 18 at Rexall Place. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Feb. 27 at Ticketmaster. Prices have yet to be announced. (“A special presale,” according to a news release, starts Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. via journeymusic.com.)
About 11,000 fans took in the band’s 2012 show at Rexall, which also featured ’80s favourites Night Ranger and Loverboy.
Journey, of course, is purveyor of one of the most beloved rock anthems of all time, Don’t Stop Believin’, as performed by the band’s original vocalist, Steve Perry. He left the band in 1998, replaced by a succession of singers. Arnel Pineda is the latest, joining in 2007 after the rockers discovered him on YouTube.
Opening acts have yet to be announced for Journey’s upcoming tour, which promoter Live Nation is describing as “the first time the American rock greats will perform a Canada-only tour.” Which means the band won’t be dipping into the U.S. between any of these dates:
