– Area municipalities must work together on major project, Mayor Iveson says. Regional municipalities should be careful of the big bad wolf and its ultimate goal of integration.

– For those that voted Liberal, just remember that after Trudeau brings in 25,000 refugees next year, you are going to be paying for their medical care, housing, education, language/job training and more. And don’t cry when corporations leave Canada to get away from the tax increases.

– The war on speeders is a joke. Have you tried to drive at or just above the speed limit in this town without being tailgated or sped past. It’s time Edmonton drivers grew up.

– Congratulations to Edmonton Oilers fans for maintaining their cool and not pelting officials with beer, shoes and other missiles.

– If the word “like” is taken out of the English language, I wonder how many people would be unable to communicate?

– Infill without engagement doomed to fail: Oct. 24, Edmonton Journal. This is also true with respect to sidewalk construction under neighbourhood renewal local improvements, where homeowners are required to pay 50 per cent of the cost and have absolutely no say before, during or after the work is completed. The program is deliberately designed to shut out the homeowner, who has no choice but pay the extra levy imposed. Democracy in action?

– Ben Henderson obviously doesn’t have enough to keep him busy. Complaining about watercraft sound on the river absolutely proves it.

– Can anyone tell me the reason for trucks having reflective mud flaps? These annoying installations bounce and sway with the movement of the vehicle on which they are mounted. Pretty, yes, in a Disney kind of way, but it’s like following a pair of blinding strobe lights. If these safety hazards are not illegal, why aren’t they?

– It’s unfortunate that people don’t read their driving manuals. Many are driving at night without their tail lights on, which can be a safety hazard.Flashing your lights doesn’t clue them in, either.

– What a ridiculous conversation we are having about community mailboxes. Many communities have had central mailboxes for decades with no fuss. Canada Post’s home delivery model is an antiquated, expensive and union-driven dinosaur. Maybe those who demand home delivery should pay for the service.
