The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has launched a nationwide campaign to raise one million pounds of food in an effort to end hunger in Canada.
“This is just a small token of our appreciation for Canadians and all the people who are suffering right now in our community,” said Muhammad Mansoor an organizer with the group.
Mansoor said the support from the city has been “extraordinary,” especially over the holidays and he expects to meet the one-million pound goal by July of this year.
“I really want to thank all the people of Edmonton who came out for the cause.”
